The Nd YAG laser is used in aesthetic medicine for laser hair removal, tattoo removal, skin reshaping, but especially for vascular lesions such as varicose veins of the lower limbs and telangiectasias of the face.
For example, in vascular; the laser shot will be captured by a target in the blood vessel (called chromophore): this is oxyhemoglobin. At this level, this absorption will produce heat which will allow the vessel to be closed by coagulation, and thus make the unsightly lesion disappear.
