The possibilities of PlexR are very vast, but in the field of medical aesthetics the main indications are the following:

Presentation
PlexR is a new aesthetic medicine device that allows the treatment of excess skin without surgery and without damaging the surrounding tissues. PlexR is the acronym for Plasma Exeresis.
PlexR delivers a small ionizing current (plasma) when it is close to the skin. This plasma will vaporize the targeted skin without contact.
This technique allows a skin retraction by a controlled and very localized heat.
This current does not pass through the body and acts only on the surface. PlexR makes it possible to perform a procedure such as blepharoplasty without bleeding nor incisions.

The action of PleXr allows to intervene on the eyelids, wrinkles and any excess skin. It can also be used in the case of spots and other minor skin imperfections: the choice of this technique will be determined by the Clinique de la Croix d’Or doctor’s, after an initial consultation. This is a non-surgical method.

WHAT ARE THE STAGES OF THE PLEXR?
First of all, the doctor will make sure that the patient is comfortable and that the anaesthetic cream has been applied long enough.
After a perfect cleaning of the treatment surface and rigorous asepsis, the act begins. The doctor will choose the PlexR handpiece corresponding to the clinical indication. He performs several impacts on the treatment area, without directly touching the skin, in order to obtain optimal skin retraction.
The duration of the session may vary according to the size and difficulty of the area to be treated, but never exceeds 20 minutes. The sensation felt by the patient is that of localized heat.
At the end of the procedure, a repairing cream is applied to the patient.
IS THIS TREATMENT PAINFUL?
In general, the PlexR session requires local anaesthesia with an anaesthetic cream.
Several sessions are recommended (in general 2 to 3 sessions, at intervals of 30 days).
In all cases, the treatment and follow-up are always personalised.
Side-effects
The operation is superficial: it leads to the appearance of small crusts for 1 to 3 days following the session.
THE CONTRAINDICATIONS TO PLEXR?
The contraindications to PlexR are limited and fall to comply the precautionary principle. These are pregnancy and breastfeeding.
In addition, people recently exposed to the sun will present a relative contraindication and will have to have a tanning removal, in order to avoid any risk of hypo or hyperpigmentation.
