WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS ON THE FACE?

Hyaluronic acid injections help to reshape the skin, regain a younger, smoother face and combat sagging skin. People who use this type of injection are delighted to be able to fill in the loss of volume in the face, treat deeper wrinkles or furrows and restore radiance to their complexion. Indeed, hyaluronic acid offers a particularly beneficial dual action: it restores volume to the areas to be plumped up and it hydrates the skin deeply and sometimes superficially. After an injection session, the filling of wrinkles is almost immediate. The face appears naturally younger. The skin regains its firmness. Depending on the needs of each patient, the practitioner can carry out additional treatments such as Botox injections or the HIFU technique to improve the oval of the face with a lifting effect without surgery. To do this, the doctor can use different solutions more or less concentrated in hyaluronic acid and also modulate the quantity of product injected according to the areas treated.

CAN HYALURONIC ACID BE INJECTED INTO THE LIPS?

Yes! Lip augmentation by hyaluronic acid injection is an effective technique for plumping up lips without surgery. These injections are also recommended to correct asymmetry of the mouth, redraw the Cupid's bow or the hem of the lips, moisturize the lips lastingly and fade the perioral fine lines that give a tired look to the face. The session lasts about 15 minutes. Although the skin is very thin in this area, the injection is not very painful. Indeed, the solution used for this sensitive area contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic. With the doctor's agreement, the patient can also apply an anesthetic cream adapted to the mucous membranes before the session in order to avoid any feeling of discomfort. During the injection, the increase in the volume of the lips is progressive. The cosmetic doctor can therefore allow you to obtain a perfectly natural result, slightly marked or a very plump mouth according to your desires. Since the mouth is a very stressed part of the body, hyaluronic acid is reabsorbed quite quickly. A new session should therefore be planned approximately every 8 months.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS AND RESULTS OF HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS IN THE NOSE?

Depending on the indications, hyaluronic acid injections can be used to reshape the nose without surgery. For example, they can reduce a bump on the nose by restoring volume to the hollow above the bone structure. It is also possible to use these injections to correct irregularities in the bridge, such as bumps or slight asymmetry, or to redefine the tip of the nose. Hyaluronic acid is then used as a filling agent. The effect usually lasts 12 to 18 months. This treatment is called medical rhinoplasty, as opposed to surgical rhinoplasty. Medical rhinoplasty sometimes avoids the need for a cartilage graft. It is also an ideal technique for checking that the result is satisfactory before going under the knife. The injection of hyaluronic acid is reversible naturally or with the application of an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Medical rhinoplasty is painless. As with injections into the mouth, the hyaluronic acid solution used during the procedure contains a local anaesthetic. Some bruising or redness may appear after the session, and the nose (bridge or nostrils) may seem more sensitive for up to 8 days after the treatment. It is essential that these injections are carried out by an experienced doctor, given the specific anatomical features of the nose! In the long term, hyaluronic acid injections in the nose do not cause any complications.

ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS TO HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS?

Yes! Contraindications to hyaluronic acid injections are rare, but it should be noted that our cosmetic doctors advise against them for anyone in the following situations: Pregnancy and breastfeeding, Allergies to lidocaine or Mannitol, Skin damage to the area to be injected, Autoimmune diseases, Taking aspirin or anticoagulants (relative contraindication, to be avoided before the procedure and according to medical advice) Even if hyaluronic acid is a product manufactured by Man and easily assimilated by the body, we inject a synthetic product that requires precautions. Before any beautification protocol, our practitioners advise you and help you choose the type of injection best suited to your expectations. Learn more

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CANNULA AND A NEEDLE HYALURONIC ACID INJECTION?

The method of administration of hyaluronic acid always requires a passage of the skin barrier, at a minimum. In aesthetic medicine, it is injected using two possible techniques: needle or cannula. By definition, needles are pointed and rigid while the cannula is flexible and not sharp. Depending on the gesture, the doctor's habits and the targeted area, one of these techniques will be used. The cannula allows a safer and less traumatic gesture, but requires significant dexterity and experience from the operator so that the product is injected precisely. The cannula is most often preferred for safety reasons. At the cheekbones, the cannula allows the practitioner to inject the solution from a single injection point, while the needle would require several entry points. In large areas, the cannula allows for so-called "fan" interventions, thus reducing the risk of hematoma. The needle is a more direct technique, but more traumatic for the vascular-nervous structures of the injected area. On the other hand, it allows precision work on areas less accessible to cannulas, such as to reduce a bump on the nose or reshape the contour of the lips. Only an experienced practitioner with a medical degree is authorized to perform a hyaluronic acid injection safely.
