YOUR EXPECTATIONS

I use facial peeling because I want to:
  • Rediscover a luminous and radiant complexion
  • Enjoy clear, healthy and soft skin
  • Reduce my fine lines and age wrinkles
  • Fade my acne and/or acne scars
  • Hide my redness
  • Reduce my pigment spots
Every day, you shed millions of dead skin cells from the surface of your face. Unfortunately, your body can't get rid of all of your dead skin cells on its own. Over time, they build up on the surface of your skin, preventing your epidermis from renewing itself properly.
Today, it is your dead cells that are at the origin of the formation of a large number of your imperfections on your skin. The facial peel is the aesthetic intervention that will eliminate the first layers of your skin, covered with dead cells, so that your body can replace them with new cells. By peeling your face, find a natural complexion and a rejuvenated face: guaranteed effects!

PRESENTATION OF THE FACIAL PEELING

By applying a product to your face, peeling gets rid of all the dead cells in your epidermis that are responsible for your imperfections. Facial peeling involves regenerating your skin by sometimes making it peel so that it can renew itself: this is called exfoliation.
This cosmetic procedure will naturally reactivate your natural collagen production and new skin cells.
By making "new skin" thanks to facial peeling, you quickly find a luminous complexion , clear and visibly softer skin. In addition to healthier skin, peeling will help erase certain imperfections on your face. It can reduce wrinkles , fade acne scars , rosacea (redness) or even pigment spots .
Partially exfoliating the skin on your face by making it peel is what you do when you accidentally get sunburned or when you do a scrub treatment. Obviously, the benefits of its effects are far too limited to provide an effective and lasting solution for your skin. If you want to wake up your complexion and regain youthful skin, peeling is the facial aesthetic treatment for you.
Depending on the effects you expect from this practice, there are three different peeling intensities:
  • The soft peel (superficial peel) acts primarily on the superficial layers of your skin. The result of the treatment brings a brighter complexion as well as a beautiful radiance to your face. By tightening pores and eliminating imperfections, the gentle peel will be able to treat tired and blotchy complexions, light pigmentation spots and acne problems. The product used will often be glycolic acid derived from fruit acids.
  • The medium peel is the intermediate peel treatment. Some skin types require a treatment to treat certain more marked facial imperfections. This is the case for small wrinkles (fine lines), acne scars, more pronounced pigment spots or stretch marks, for example. A TCA or Trichloroacetic Acid (acid derived from vinegar) peel will often be offered at this stage.
  • The deep peel is the most powerful peel treatment. The aesthetic doctor spreads a highly acidic product over your face, which deeply penetrates several layers of your skin. Contingent on the intensity of the treatment, it is only used to correct skin with strong irregularities: deep wrinkles, pregnancy spots, depressed scars, etc. With this procedure, your production of new cells is much more intense. Considered a heavy treatment, the deep peel is not recommended for black, mixed-race or Asian skin, in particular because of the high risk of depigmentation.
During your first consultation in the clinic, your aesthetic doctor will assess your needs to guide you towards the most suitable medical facial peeling technique for you. To learn more about our facial treatments, do not hesitate to contact our aesthetic clinic .

AREAS TREATED WITH FACIAL PEELING

Facial peeling is a dermatological procedure that is performed mainly on all or part of the surface of your face . If necessary, peeling can also be performed on the neck , hands or décolleté . Between gentle, medium and deep peeling, it is not the area treated that changes, but the intensity of the product used , depending on the expected penetration.

PROCEDURE FOR FACIAL PEELING

BEFORE THE INTERVENTION

To choose the facial peel treatment (gentle, medium or deep) best suited to your needs, your cosmetic doctor will begin by carefully examining your face. Depending on the diagnosis made by your practitioner, you will be guided towards the facial treatment that is most appropriate for your skin.
In order for you to benefit from an optimal result, your cosmetic doctor will prescribe creams to apply to your face for 2 to 3 weeks before your dermatological treatment or procedure. These will help the peeling solution penetrate and prolong its effects.
As soon as you return to the clinic after this short period, your facial peeling session can begin.

THE DAY OF THE INTERVENTION

First, your cosmetic doctor checks that you do not have any possible contraindications to the procedure. Once this check is done, he or she removes your makeup and carefully cleanses your face. Once your skin is perfectly sterile, your doctor can gently apply the product that will exfoliate your face. For a gentle peel , your cosmetic doctor uses a fruit acid (AHA) with a concentration greater than 30%. For a medium peel , it is a trichloroacetic acid (AHA) with a concentration ranging from 15 to 30%. For a deep peel , phenol is applied to your facial skin.
At the end of the procedure and depending on your skin's reaction, your cosmetic doctor will finish the procedure by neutralizing the acid.
If your procedure involves a gentle peel , the few red spots on your face will begin to fade 15 to 20 minutes after the procedure. Small flaking spots may appear after 3 to 5 days, but the after-effects are generally simple. The flaking occurs after 3 to 5 days, you will gradually lose small strips of skin, exactly like with sunburn.
If your procedure involves a medium or deep peel , your skin will take on a brown tint that will continue after the procedure. Peeling occurs after 6 to 10 days following the procedure. A post-operative protocol consisting of local care must be scrupulously followed (moisturizing cream, spray, etc.)
The procedure lasts 20 minutes on average for a gentle peel , compared to 30 minutes maximum for a medium or deep peel. Depending on the protocol chosen, it is possible to feel tingling and a sensation of heat when the acid is applied.

AFTER THE INTERVENTION

Whatever your dermatological treatment or procedure, you will need to be careful about sun exposure after your session.
